SO, this is just a look at how Jasper has changed over the last 6 months I've been in Iraq, sure, its just a dog, but what if he were my child? SO many of my friends, and co-workers, have children back home, growing, learning, evolving, growing some more, and where's Dad, missing it all, stuck in Iraq... My best buddy Tom from Kansas, his wife just had there second child, he's a couple years older then me, he missed the last 6 months of his wife's pregnancy, he told me when he left she wasn't even really showing yet, he planned to be home for the baby's due date, unfortunetly he was born a week early, Tom gets to spend 15 days with his new son, then flys back to Iraq with me, only to return 6, 8, 9, 10, 12 months later????? (our return date is still unknown, its up to Mr Bush....) How many stages does an infant go through in there first 6 months of life? How many smiles will Tom miss? Will his son take his first steps without him there?
