Mountain Madness

Going up the Buck Hollow trail, Shenandoah NP
On the way back down the Buck Ridge trail.
A VERY steep and rocky last 1/2 mile of the Buck Ridge trail

We spent a wonderful day hiking in Shenandoah NP near Sperryville, VA. It was in the mid 60s and not a cloud in the sky. It was a tough 6 mile loop trail with about 1400 feet of elevation gain from bottom to top. And Molly stepped off a rock into the muck only once.

Only In Alaska IV

Larry Mathis clears a path through a snow berm in front of his 1958 Cessna 180 that is parked along Lakeshore Drive at Lake Hood, Mar. 24, 2007. Mathis has been flying in Alaska for nearly 40 years and said
Zanlan Williams of Anchorage rides along the Seward Highway next to Turnagain Arm during a training ride for the Mother's Day Clean Air Challenge. Williams works on the Slope, so he is getting in his rides early. Early registration for the bike ride is open until, Mar. 30, 2007, at www.aklung.org. The American Lung Association fundraiser has a 60-mile ride from Houston to Talkeetna and a 120-mile round-trip ride. BOB HALLINEN / Anchorage Daily News Winter overstays its welcome.

Only The Best

The best ski instructor in Alaska.
The best ski student in Alaska.

I have the best cross country ski instructor in Alaska, she only takes me on the hardest hills because its the best way to learn, then takes off fast and makes me catch up. I only got lost for a couple hours today on trails I have never been on...... But hey, I'm learning fast.

We also went for an awesome nature hike out Eagle River with Jasper....

Enjoy.
Peace,
Sam

Picked up 3 on my first outing. Had 2 more on and saw color.
Sorry Dave, I'll take the 6wt and new sinking line when they get a little thicker.
