If You Want To Walk On Water You Have To Get Out Of The Boat.

A Lenten Journey
Matthew 14:22-33
This will be the theme of our Mid-week Lenten journey this year. It is based on a book by John Ortberg. Deep within all of us lies the same faith and longing that sent Peter walking across the wind-swept Sea of Galilee toward Jesus. Out on those risky waters of faith, Jesus is waiting to meet you in ways that will change you forever. The experience is terrifying and it is also thrilling beyond belief. Water walkers come to know God in ways only water walkers can. The only thing is that if you want to walk on water, you have to get out of the boat! This Lenten journey will give us a chance to consider what water walking is all about – and what keeps us from getting out of the boat and experiencing it more fully. Come and join the journey!

February 6th “Do you want to walk on water?”
February 13th “Are you waiting for life to begin?”
February 20th “Is it faithfulness or foolishness?”
February 27th “Do you want to grow in your faith?”
March 5th “Where did that wind come from?”
March 12th “What about that sinking feeling?”
Holy Communion and Stripping of the Altar
“Why is it so hard to stay focused?”
March 21st GOOD FRIDAY
“What are you waiting for?”
“How big is your God?”

I am really looking forward to this unique walk. What better time in my life to get out of the boat, 3 weeks away for a RIF at work, tired of the old job, fearing a change to a new one and trying daily to give it all up to the Lord. Row Row Row.
